Mari Gilbert (born 22 June 1964) was an American advocate from Jersey City, New Jersey, United States. She was murdered by her daughter Sarra Elizabeth Gilbert in Ellenville, New York. She died while searching for her missing daughter. The story of her life is very horrible.
A Netflix series named “Lost Girls” describes the entire incident in Mari’s life. The series aired on Netflix from 13 March 2020.

Mari’s death was not a common death. She was murdered. On 23 July 2016 Gilbert’s daughter “Sarra Elizabeth Gilbert” killed Mari in her home.
Police say she was murdered in a very painful manner. There were marks of knives everywhere on her body. Her daughter attacked her with knives until she died.

After completing her studies, Gilbert’s started working as an advocate. After some time, she became an activist and helps the people. Due to the problem of money at home, Mari Gilbert’s eldest daughter “Shannan” started working at the age of 17.
Her daughter took the wrong path to earn money quickly and became a prostitute. On 1 May 2010, Mari’s daughter suddenly went missing. She put all her efforts to find her missing daughter. After finding considerable space, her daughter’s dead body was found near Oak Beach.
