Michigan Schedule
Michigan begins the defense of their Big Ten crown with, not to be disrespectful to their Week 2 opponents, a relatively easy schedule. In fact, they’ll begin every game as an overwhelming favorite for victory all the way to their November 11 clash with Penn State. Facing the Nittany Lions and bitter rival Ohio State in a three-week period will be the true test of this Wolverines team.

Such is their lack of strength of schedule early in the season that people have poured scorn on a “self-imposed suspension” for head coach Jim Harbaugh that keeps him away from the sideline for the first three games. His absence certainly caused no issue as the Wolverines cruised past East Carolina on opening weekend, and a similar result could await Michigan from the UNLV game.
UNLV Schedule
UNLV hasn’t had more than a five-win season since 2013. That year was the last time the program registered more than a .500 record in the Mountain West too. In an attempt to take the Rebels over that hurdle, the program hired former Missouri head coach Barry Odom and highly-rated former WR coach-turned-offensive coordinator Brennan Marion ahead of the 2023 season.
Their hardest task comes in Week 2 as they attempt to tame the Wolverines on the road. It’s undeniably the most dangerous squad they’ll face in the 2023 college football season, and they follow that game up by welcoming Vanderbilt to Las Vegas. A Mountain West schedule minus Boise State is a major boost for the team, although a road trip to Fresno State is far from ideal.
